Job summary

Valparaiso Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Exercise Center Attendant to support the Wellness team by welcoming and engaging facility users.

You will greet members, enforce center policies, provide equipment orientation, and help maintain a clean and safe environment. CPR and First Aid certification, which will be provided upon hire, is required; prior health/fitness experience is preferred. This role offers a starting wage of $12 per hour with evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• CPR and First Aid certified – (Will be provided by the YMCA upon hire)
• Experience in the health and fitness field preferred
• Use of a variety of fitness equipment

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage facility users. Maintain high visibility in the Wellness Center area; conduct periodic walk-throughs.
• Enforce Wellness Center policies.
• Provide equipment orientation and timely follow-up.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of environment.
• Adhere to emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
