Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a Wellness Center Aide at Tooele Junior High School to support the instructional program and assist with PBIS initiatives. The role involves overseeing students with minor social/emotional concerns and coordinating behavioral supports.

Immediate start is required, with duties across class and non-class activities as needed. The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers and families, maintaining records, and contributing to a positive learning

Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior successful clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an intervention specialist for students who are displaying social/emotional behavioral concerns beyond typical classroom Tier 1 misbehavior.
  • May assist with implementation of behavioral plans designed by the IEP team or Behavior Assistance Team for students exhibiting behavior that prevents their success in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with others (teachers, parents, and administrators) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
  • Coordinate program components, support needs, and materials to meet District guidelines.
  • Maintain a variety of detailed records to meet reporting requirements.
  • Monitor student behavior to ensure student success.
  • Supervise assigned students within or outside the classroom during regular school hours on a limited basis.
  • May supervise and manage students in non-classroom activities, such as cafeteria, recess, and busing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure positive classroom learning environments and experiences.
  • Assist in maintaining documents, files, and records for the purpose of informing teachers and/or parents of students' progress.
  • Respond to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. students, teachers, administrators, parents, etc.) for the purpose of solving problems, providing information and/or directing to available resources.
  • Contact parents by phone or other means when parent involvement is needed to collaborate on their student's behavior.

Wellness Center Aide

Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Principal,the Wellness Center Aide position provides support to the instructional program at the assigned school, with specific responsibility for overseeing students exhibiting minor social/emotional behavioral concerns. This position will also provide support to the Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) efforts and the Tier I behavior team at their school.

Qualifications Profile
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years or older.

Contract

*29 hoursper week, 178 day per year, time card. (This position is paid out of School Land Trust)

Support Professional Employees Salary Schedule, Level O1 - $17.94per hour (additional pay given for experience and higher education)
