What You’ll Do
- Conduct Wellness Center Orientations based on branch guidelines and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
- Ensure members are acknowledged, staff are identifiable by shirt and nametag, staff is trained, knowledgeable, and the Fitness Center is staffed 100% during operating hours.
- Maintain a clean facility and equipment.
- Report mechanical or breakdown problems immediately to the fitness director and document in the maintenance logbook.
- Provide advice, spotting and other assistance to members.
- Encourage members to wipe down vinyl seating and benches after use and clean equipment as requested by supervisor.
- Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year.
- Maintain continuous surveillance during shift.
- Encourage members to live a healthy lifestyle.
- Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (What You’ll Need)
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interface with all personality types.
- Knowledge and/or experience in basic exercise principles.
- Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
