Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Philadelphia is seeking a part-time Wellness Attendant to support aquatics, fitness, and member services. You will help enforce rules, assist guests, and work under the Wellness Department Managers to ensure safe, welcoming access to the facility.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse people. CPR/AED is preferred; mandatory reporting training is required before employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or enrolled in a program to obtain one.
• Current CPR/AED preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Must read, write, and communicate proficiently in English.
• Ability to work well with people and in a team environment.
• Mandated Reporter training per PA Act 153 prior to employment with five-year refreshers.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Wellness Dept Managers, the Wellness Attendant will assist in aquatics/fitness/gymnasium, and member services, enforcing department rules, including but not limited to assuring that minors are properly accompanied by guardians and that only those eligible use the facility. The Wellness Attendant takes a lead role in addressing violations to department policies in a respectful, professional manner and promptly reports issues, concerns and questions to the Member Services, Aquatics and Fitness Managers as appropriate for follow-up action.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement required. Current CPR/AED preferred. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and communicate proficiently in English. Must have ability to work and relate well with people.

As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 prior to employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
