The Wellness Attendant keep safety and sanitation as their #1 priority, while welcoming members and assisting them in the Wellness Center. Hours available Monday-Thursday 4:30-8pm and Friday 4:30-7pm.

Employees enjoy FREE use of the facilities at all branches, including our outdoor pools, gym, and wellness center. Program discounts include FREE use of Child Watch up to 3 hours per day or Camp/School-Aged Child Care for your own children while you're working when available, and discounts on programs and lessons. Full-time and Regular Part-time Employees accrue PTO after their first month and receive free membership for their family!

Essential Functions

• Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
• Develops relationships with staff, members and community partners to advance the mission of the YMCA.
• Enhances YMCA of York and York County membership by demonstrating the Y core values while keeping the Wellness Center a safe and pleasant environment.
• Cleans equipment and surrounding floor area within the Wellness Center by using proper cleaning supplies and procedures.
• Monitors the Wellness Center by walking the floor, kindly enforces Wellness Center rules, encourages safe and proper equipment use and equipment clean up.
• Follows reporting and signage procedure regarding broken or missing equipment/supplies. Maintain accurate attendance records.
• Reviews equipment tutorials on the Y YouTube channel and via Precor's QR codes to possess a working knowledge of equipment in wellness center.
• Is knowledgeable of and promotes YMCA virtual and on site programs to members.
• Wears appropriate and approved fitness attire, therefore being easily identifiable by members.
• Applies York and York County YMCA policy/procedures for emergency situations, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Serves as a role model for other staff members by demonstrating exemplary job skills and behavior.
• Attends required staff meetings, educational workshops and certifications.
• Maintains certification by attending CEC classes and submitting required updated paperwork.
• Completes additional duties as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator/Director.

Qualifications

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force regularly and 45 pounds of force occasionally.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
