Swansea High School is seeking a Head Teacher Welfare to lead student wellbeing strategies, develop inclusive whole-school programs, and collaborate with families and external support services to support learning outcomes.

This role builds on our track record of improving literacy, numeracy and HSC outcomes, and requires outstanding educational leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to Aboriginal education policy.

Qualifications

  • Successful experience in developing and implementing highly effective proactive and inclusive whole school wellbeing strategies and policies in response to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly productive partnerships and collaborate with students, families, staff, and external support services to support student wellbeing.
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policy.
  • An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement; if not held, you must commence the application process concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop an integrated, dynamic wellbeing team providing innovative programs for students, including mental health, complex case management and transition.
  • Develop proactive and inclusive whole school wellbeing strategies and policies in collaboration with school leadership, staff and external agencies.
  • Build productive partnerships with students, families, staff and external support services to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
  • Lead and manage resources to support teaching and learning and ensure equitable access to wellbeing programs.
