Ransom Everglades School in Miami is seeking a Physical Education and Health Teacher to advance students' fitness, health knowledge, and overall wellbeing. You will deliver a PE curriculum emphasizing Physical Literacy, Healthy Behaviors, Decision Making, and Stress Management.

The role involves collaborating with PE colleagues to design a balanced program, developing lesson plans, and assessing student progress while engaging families and the school community.

Formación

• Bachelor's in Physical Education and Health or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CPR and first aid certification.
• Experience in physical education and health teaching.

Responsabilidades

• Develop the whole student through team sports, fitness-related activities, and age-appropriate health and wellness programs.
• Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, and individual or team sports.
• Work cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program.
• Analyze, demonstrate, and explain basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of sports, games, and fundamental body movements.
• Develop lesson plans. Provide individual and small group instruction and feedback to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide a safe and orderly productive environment in the physical education areas.
• Evaluate the academic and social growth of students to prepare individual reports on each student.
• Evaluate each student's growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution to team sports.
• Communicate well with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom activities during the day.
• Participate in student and parent activities, including clubs, after-school activities, and advisory.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest trends and research in health education.
• Attend professional, staff, and curriculum development meetings and events.
• Take attendance and maintain a positive, structured, disciplined learning environment that fosters student engagement and respect for the subject matter.
• Regularly communicate with parents about their child's progress, including through parent-teacher conferences and progress reports.
• Participate in section meetings, department meetings, all-school meetings, multi-day meetings at the beginning and end of the school year, and professional development meetings.
