Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking a skilled technician to maintain and repair raw water wells under general supervision. You will operate wells and related instrumentation, perform routine servicing, and respond to maintenance requests.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least two years of mechanical experience, the ability to follow instructions, and a valid Florida driver's license. This is a full-time, on-site position with a focus on safety and reliability.

• Two (2) years mechanical experience.

Knowledge of operation and maintenance of wells. Technical, mechanical and mathematical knowledge. Ability to read and understand as-builds, schematics and diagrams. Ability to follow and understand written and oral instructions. Ability to communicate with public and fellow employees. Ability to work in a confined space and to perform manual work in various conditions. Skill in repair of various equipment. Skill in trouble shooting of wells.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license with good driving record.

A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
