Job summary

Helmerich & Payne seeks a Well Control Technician to work onsite across multiple locations, including Grand Junction, CO, performing maintenance and inspection of BOP equipment and assisting with on-call field issues.

The role requires strong knowledge of BOP, ability to travel, and effective communication. Onsite work supports safe drilling operations and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain well-control equipment and choke manifolds.
• Disassemble/assemble BOP equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-call field issues and coordinate with operations.

At a Glance:

The Well Control Technician is primarily responsible for working on well control equipment, assembly/disassembly of choke manifolds, performing inspections and preventative maintenance on BOP equipment. This position is on call for any urgent field related issues.

What You Need:

• Thorough knowledge of BOP and well control equipment
• Thorough knowledge of field inspections as related to BOP and well control equipment
• Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively
• Basic PC-based software application skills: excel, word, etc.
• Ability to travel (valid driver’s license required)
• High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years of well control or BOP/drilling rig experience
