About the Job

Questar III BOCES is seeking a passionate and innovative Welding Technology Teacher to join our team and support our Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Studies (CS) programs for students. This position offers a unique opportunity to integrate welding techniques with real-world applications, delivering effective instruction and support in CTE curricular areas preparing students for successful careers in diverse fields.


Responsibilities

  • Successful candidates will actively engage and prepare students to succeed in the profession of Metal Fabrication.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and which is compatible with area job market needs.
  • Assesses the progress of students on a regular basis and maintains organized up-to-date records of each student’s progress.
  • Maintains appropriate classroom order and adequate student supervision; implements all policies governing student conduct; assists in the supervision of students throughout the building and on student grounds.


Qualifications:

  • Must possess, or be willing to pursue, a NYS teaching certification in Precision Metal Work Operations.
  • Applicable work experience will qualify an applicant to pursue NYS certification through the non-traditional Transitional A teacher pathway (advanced degrees are not required).
  • Applicants with experience in Welding and/or Metal Fabrication are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated successful experience working in the welding/metal fabrication field.
