Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a welder to operate welding equipment and build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished products on our production lines. Weldments vary in type, size, and direction, and the role requires reading blueprints and following work instructions.

The ideal candidate has completed a weld class or curriculum and can pass the Welder Qualification test. You will train across production areas to meet demand while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must receive a passing score on the Welder Qualification test and recertify skills as required by program guidelines
• Must have completed a weld class / curriculum

Responsibilities

• Adjust welding machine settings to proper weld configurations
• Use tools such as grinders, needle guns, wire wheels, etc. for cleanliness of finished welds
• Heats and forms metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, or welding equipment
• Welds components in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
• Accurately operate and read measuring devices
• Assemble and weld various metal parts together
• Properly position material/parts to be welded
• Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
• Follow verbal and written work instructions including ability to read blueprints
• Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards
• Work in both team and individual settings
• Regular attendance required
• All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
