Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling is seeking a welder to join our manufacturing team. You will weld, repair, and assemble metal components according to shop blueprints and standards, using multiple welding processes and cutting methods.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of welding experience, read blueprints, and can lift 50 lbs. We offer a safe, air-conditioned environment with Lean initiatives and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Minimally 3 years welding or construction experience.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs and standing long periods.
• Familiar with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow instructions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components to fabricate or repair products per shop drawings.
• Operate welding processes: GMAW, GTAW, arc stud and resistance welding.
• Cut metal using oxy-acetylene, plasma, or discs per blueprints.
• Pass employer tests to meet AWS certification standards.
• Operate shop equipment: shear, chop saw, crane, grinder, etc.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and contribute to lean improvements.
• Collaborate with team and read production schedules.
