Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in welding/engineering.
• Proficiency with welding codes (AWS, ASME) and welding processes.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specs.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the facility’s welding program including WPS/PQR/WPQ management.
• Ensure welding activities comply with AWS, ASME, and related standards.
• Maintain qualified welder database and requalification schedules.
• Oversee welder testing, certification, and training programs.
• Coordinate welding audits and documentation.
• Serve as SME for welding processes, equipment, and inspection techniques.
• Collaborate with inspectors on weld quality and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement of welding processes for cost efficiency.
• Ensure safety policies are followed in the welding department.
• Supervise welder/auditor testers and provide training to personnel.
