Job summary

Coldspring is seeking a welding supervisor to lead the welding team, ensuring safe, cost-efficient production and on-time delivery. You will set priorities to meet customer expectations for quality and cost, oversee maintenance scheduling, and drive continuous improvement across safety, TPM and 5S initiatives.

The role requires a technical degree, AWS D1.1 welding cert, and 3–5 years as a certified welder with 1–2 years in supervision, along with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary technical degree in skilled trades supervised plus appropriate experience.
• Welding certification to AWS D1.1 standard.
• 3–5 years as certified welder, 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of production operations and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of TPM, CIT and 5S systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete installation and upkeep of production equipment with production managers and supervisors.
• Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
• Schedule and monitor daily preventative maintenance, shift, weekend and on-call maintenance.
• Monitor shop floor activities and coach for performance improvements.
• Lead and participate in safety, CIT and maintenance meetings.
• Estimate labor and material costs for projects in area of responsibility.
• Ensure 5S compliance and conduct monthly 5S audits.
• Control department costs and develop metrics with the Director of Support Services.
