Job summary

MEC Bedford is seeking a skilled welding process technician to troubleshoot welding processes, tooling, and equipment and implement corrective actions. You will work with production leaders to manage workflow deviations and ensure weld quality across our manufacturing floor.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of welding experience in manufacturing, reads blueprints and schematics, and maintains accurate process documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of welding standards and safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
• Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots welding processes, tooling, and equipment and suggests corrective actions to resolve.
• Notifies production leaders of improvements and when workflow deviations are needed.
• Completes process checks on the manufacturing floor to verify weld compliance and capability.
• Maintains welding process documents and ensures each workstation has accurate documentation.
• Runs capability studies and documents results properly.
• Trains manufacturing personnel on process changes or updates.
• Assists in launches by following sample parts and new jobs; quarantines and inspects new parts.
• Analyzes scrap and rework and suggests corrective action.
• Assists weld operators and welders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
