Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred with related training.
• Basic welding/fabrication training or experience is a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measure and do simple arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders with fabrication, repair, and modification of metal structures and equipment.
• Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, bevel, deburr and prepare metal for fit-up and welding.
• Clean parts and remove slag, rust, grease, and other contaminants.
• Hold, align, clamp, and secure components during fit-up, welding, or assembly.
• Stage materials, fixtures, consumables, tools, and equipment for efficient work.
• Observe welding practices and learn from experienced welders.
