Qualifications

• Two and a half years of sheet metal experience required, including MIG/TIG welding.
• Ability to read and understand written documents.
• Read and comprehend basic blueprints.
• Use of basic weld fixtures.
• Basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction.
• Ability to straighten welded parts.
• Use of dial calipers, vernier calipers, protractors, squares and other measuring tools.
• Medium to heavy work may be required depending on task.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates and welds customer products within specifications with few defects.
• Drill and tap as needed.
• Develop and build advanced weld fixturing.
• Read and follow weld maps.
• Create prototype parts from blueprints or schematics within tolerances.
• Use clamps and porta power to shape parts to tolerances.
• Demonstrate gouging, beveling, and full penetration welding on 2-inch plate.
• Perform weld repairs without altering dimensions.
• Set up and operate rolling machinery and an ironworker for notching or bending.
• Weld holes up to 4 inches deep.
• Aim for consistent MIG and TIG weld quality across product ranges.
