Job summary

nVent in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Welder to interpret blueprints, set up welding equipment, and perform high-quality welds across steel, aluminum, copper and more. You will follow job requirements with the lead person and ensure safety and cleanliness on the shop floor.

This role requires at least one year welding experience, ability to read tape measures and blueprints, and familiarity with cutting torches, grinders, and welding machines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of welding experience and ability to operate welding equipment.
• Experience with setting up welding machines and adjusting settings.
• Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and confirm job requirements with the lead person.
• Gather materials and perform layout work per specifications.
• Set up welding machines and adjust settings for various applications.
• Weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials in multiple positions.
• Inspect welds for quality and repair defective joints as needed.
• Operate cutting torches and plasma cutters when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
