Jefferson Southern Corporation (JSC) in Rockmart, GA is seeking a welding operations supervisor. The role leads weld floor activities, ensures daily production checks, trains team members, and drives OEE improvement while maintaining TPM schedules and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a BS/BA or 2–5 years of leadership, strong communication, and ERP experience (PLEX preferred). Occasional overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree or 2-5 years equivalent experience.
• Leadership experience in a prior role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with ERP software, preferably PLEX.
• Ability to make timely decisions through problem solving.
• Basic welding principles knowledge.
• Lean Manufacturing/JIT experience.
• Must be a full-time JSC associate for at least 3 months.
• Excellent attendance and safety record; no warnings in past 6 months.
• Willingness to work daily and weekend overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure weld lines have the Daily Production Check Sheet at start of shift.
• Verify shortage/schedule against lines running and adjust.
• Meet with weld team leaders daily to review S, Q, C, D; provide training as needed.
• Aim to increase OEE between 68-76% and reduce defects.
• Check sub inventories in Plex and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Sign the Daily Production Check Sheets and log issues as required.
• Monitor line production and create contingency plans.
• Assist with training and coaching across weld team members.
• Complete Daily Audits including part quality and report issues to supervisor.
• Maintain TPM schedule per line to ensure uptime.
