Job summary

St. Johns Ship Building is seeking a Welding Supervisor to oversee the steel and aluminum welding department. You will direct welding operations, coordinate with the production schedule, and supervise welders and helpers to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, blueprint literacy, and experience with multiple welding processes. Expect full-time hours with potential evenings and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant safety training preferred.
• Experience supervising welding teams and coordinating production schedules is expected.
• Ability to read welding blueprints and schedules; understanding of welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all functions of the Welding department and supervise welders and helpers.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate welding activities for new construction and repairs.
• Ensure deadlines are met and budgets and quality standards are maintained.
• Maintain staffing, train and evaluate staff, and ensure compliant hiring practices.
• Coordinate with Production Manager and other shifts; outsource when necessary.
