Job summary

Machina Labs is seeking a Welding Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, validate, and continuously improve welding systems and production processes across prototype and production environments. You will lead tooling design, process qualification, and collaborate with Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to scale manufacturing while meeting AS9100 and regulatory requirements.

Applicants must have a BS in Mechanical/Welding Engineering and 3+ years of manufacturing or welding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing or welding engineering experience.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes using engineering principles.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D17.1 or comparable welding specifications and standards.
• Experience designing weld tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA).
• Experience creating engineering documentation, manufacturing specifications, and instructions.
• Ability to perform engineering analysis and solve complex manufacturing problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize welding processes, tooling, fixtures, and methods for prototype and production environments.
• Evaluate manufacturability, welding performance, structural integrity, quality, cost, and production efficiency.
• Develop, validate, and implement welding processes for complex metallic assemblies.
• Lead design and qualification of weld tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
• Create engineering specifications, process documentation, and work instructions to support consistent production.
• Review drawings and specifications for manufacturability and compliance.
