Welding Lab Assistant, SC1WELDLABTEC (SU25)

Student Worker Eligibility:

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
• If a student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance in the Welding Lab.
• Maintain the shop lab cleanliness with general clean-up.
• Cut coupons & keep inventory of supplies.
• Perform light maintenance such as changing light bulbs, checking vents, etc.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Students must be enrolled in one of the following programs: WELD, MANUF, ELMEC, ELECT, AUTO, HORT, or HVACR.
  • This is a student job.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring or 1 credit hour for Summer.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above; waived for first-semester students.
  • If qualifying for Federal Work Study, hired as a Federal Work Study employee.
  • WELD 1100 and MANUF 1151 are required courses.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to climb a ladder.

Pay Rate: Student FY24 Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
