Job summary

New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM is seeking a part-time Welding Instructor to teach welding courses to NMJC students and present demonstrations.

You will monitor and maintain welding labs and equipment, ensure compliance with NMJC and OSHA safety policies, and participate in training as needed.

This role follows the college's Faculty Handbook and contract terms, with additional duties as assigned by the Dean or program supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Teach welding courses for NMJC students.
• Present welding demonstrations to groups and individuals as needed.
• Monitor and maintain NMJC welding labs, equipment, and classrooms to ensure safe, operational spaces and evaluate student assignments in person and online.
• Ensure student compliance with NMJC and OSHA safety policies and regulations for the welding program.
• Be willing to participate in welding and instructor training as needed.
• Follow NMJC policies and procedures as published by the Faculty Handbook and college catalog.
• Accept other duties as assigned by the Dean or program supervisor.
• May serve on campus committees as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
