Charter College, a fast growing career college in Anchorage, AK, has established Welding Programs at our campus! We are seeking enthusiastic instructors to join our WELDING program. It is the philosophy of Charter College to provide a unique educational path for students that will lead to successful job performance and job satisfaction in health care, business, and legal industries.

Classes are 1-2 times a week. Instructors will teach our 5 week courses and average 10-12 hours of work a week in the classroom and working with students. Part-time instructors are paid by each 5 week course taught: $1,250.00 to $1,400.00

Our Anchorage, AK campus is rapidly expanding. We are looking for a WELDING instructor who has the commitment and drive to help students achieve their dreams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
  2. Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program and/or develop such when indicated by the President.
  3. Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
  4. Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
  5. Grade assignments, return graded assignments to students, and assign final grades for all students in a timely manner.
  6. Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment.
  7. Substitute in classes when necessary.
  8. Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc. Maintain communication with Program Manager regarding such activity.
  9. Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Program Manager.
  10. Monitor all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities.
  11. Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from the administrative office when needed.
  12. Maintain professional appearance.
  13. Communicate with Campus President or Program Manager on all issues related to students.
  14. Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in the professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
  15. Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily.
  16. Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
  17. Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs.
  18. Perform other duties as required.
Charter College needs part-time (adjunct) instructors to teach the following:
  1. 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Monday - Thursday.
  2. 5:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. - Monday - Thursday.

COMPENSATION:
  1. Paid by each 5 week course taught: $1,250.00 to $1,400.00.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. 2 years experience working as a welding professional.
  2. AWS CWI certification along with welding vocational/technical training with pipe and structural welding certificates and (3) years experience in inspection or fabricator QC will be considered.
  3. Broad knowledge of welding applications, procedures, specifications, industry codes and standards, and applied metallurgy.
  4. Proficient computer skills.
  5. Effective oral and written communication skills.
