The role emphasizes safety, mentorship, and curriculum collaboration. You will bring 3–5 years of welding experience and strong communication skills to foster an engaging learning environment at UTI’s Mooresville campus.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3-5 years of practical welding experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and staff.
• Patience and empathy for teaching a diverse student body.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and educate students in welding fundamentals and advanced techniques.
• Lead hands-on demonstrations and real-world welding practice.
• Collaborate with education team to update curriculum and develop new courses.
• Mentor students on projects and safety best practices.

Position OverviewAs a Welding Instructor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and skills of our students. Your expertise in the industry will be the guiding light that leads them to a promising career in many different industries. • Hands-On Training: Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
• Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: 3-5 years of practical work experience in the field
• Technical Skills: MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored welding, oxy-acetylene torch work, plasma cutting, and brazing
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
• Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace
