Job summary

Universal Technical Institute, Inc. is seeking an experienced Welding Instructor to train the next generation of welders. You will lead hands-on demonstrations, inspire students, and help them master MIG, TIG, stick, and other processes.

No prior teaching experience is required as training is provided. This onsite role emphasizes safety, curriculum collaboration, and mentorship with strong industry alignment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of welding experience within the past 10 years.
• MIG/TIG/Stick and flux-cored welding, oxy-acetylene torches, plasma cutting and brazing skills.
• Strong communication and patient, empathetic teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and educate students in a welcoming learning environment.
• Provide hands-on demonstrations and real-world welding practice.

• Hands-On Training: Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
• Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.

What You'll Bring

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: 5 years of practical work experience in the field, within the past 10 years
• Technical Skills: MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored welding, oxy-acetylene torch work, plasma cutting, and brazing
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
• Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace
