Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for a leading structural steel fabrication company in Birmingham, AL. You will perform visual and NDT inspections to verify weld quality and conformity with AWS D1.1/D1.5, and review drawings and specifications.

This role reports to the quality team and involves completing inspection reports, coordinating with fabrication crews, and ensuring fabricated products meet project standards.

Qualifications

Current AWS CWI certification
Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

Perform visual and NDT inspections
Conduct UT testing
Review drawings and specifications
Complete inspection reports
Ensure fabricated products meet quality standards

Job description

Job Title: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Salary: $30 - $40 per hour + Overtime (1.5x) + Benefits + Relocation Assistance

Shift: 4 x 10 Monday - Thursday 04:30PM to 2:30 AM Overtime on Friday, Saturday and Sundays (x1.5 Overtime rate)

Join a leading structural steel fabrication company with a strong backlog of bridge and infrastructure projects through 2029. You'll be responsible for performing visual and NDT inspections, conducting UT testing, reviewing drawings and specifications, completing inspection reports, and ensuring fabricated products meet quality standards.
