Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Welding Inspector to join our inspection team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring welding activities comply with approved procedures, relevant codes, and client specifications. This role is ideal for individuals committed to technical excellence and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of welds before, during, and after welding
- Verify welding procedures (WPS), welder qualifications (WPQ), and material traceability
- Monitor welding activities in accordance with standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, ISO 5817)
- Identify welding defects and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary
- Witness and interpret non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as PT, MT, UT, and RT
- Maintain accurate weld maps, inspection logs, and project documentation
- Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and client representatives on inspection matters
- Support audit readiness and contribute to final quality documentation for project closeout
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering
- Certified in CSWIP 3.1, PCN Welding Inspector, or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in welding inspection
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and welding codes
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 inspection practices is an added advantage
