Job description

As a welding fabricator, you will be responsible for joining metal using a variety of techniques, often to form new structures. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical plans.

  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize press brake, metal shear, and all welder types.
  • Visualizes a finished product/repair and creates a satisfactory plan for the process.
  • Fabricates, welds, and inspects products in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to disassemble and assemble equipment with some guidance from others to perform repairs.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems related to the welding repair of equipment.
  • Determines the cost effectiveness of repairs to equipment, the prioritization of repairs, and the available resources used to perform the repairs; monitor the budget.
  • Participates in annual physical inventory.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot fabrication, welding and grinding issues to keep projects moving forward with little or no assistance.
  • Works with the priority of safety over production for self, co-workers, and the public at all times.
  • Maintains current knowledge of, abide by, communicates and enforces all safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures and wears all required personal protective equipment.
  • Ensures daily housekeeping is maintained within assigned department and surrounding areas.
  • Promotes the use of sound and effective safety practices in the performance of all functions
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with background in welding preferred.
  • Good driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
