Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to support welding, fabrication, and machining needs on site in California. You will read blueprints, repair equipment, and lay out jobs while mentoring trainees.

A strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork is required. The role includes lifting up to 50 pounds and operating lathe/milling machines; California driver’s license and Level A welder test are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of training on the job and/or formal schooling.
• Must pass Welder/Fabricator Level A test.
• Able to work with a minimum of supervision and complete work timely and efficiently.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work from a ladder.
• Must have and maintain California driver's license and an acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and repair welding/fabrication malfunctions.
• Work from blueprints/schematics to perform maintenance/repair or install equipment.
• Report materials and replacement parts needed for jobs; prepare and maintain maintenance invoices.
• Direct/instruct trainees (e.g., welders/fabricators) handling training classes B and C.
• Lay out estimate jobs; determine appropriate metal types and thicknesses.
• Weld mild steel, stainless and aluminum metals.
• Machining of pins, bushings, shafts, keyways, etc.
• General cleaning and assisting other crews; maintain safety, housekeeping.
