Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, Virginia invites students to join as a Welding Engineering Intern. This on-site program runs 10–12 weeks, with the opportunity to present completed projects to leadership at the end of the internship.

Location:

On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.

BWXT offers paid internships along with a housing stipend for those interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from Lynchburg, VA. Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks. At the end of the internship, each intern has the opportunity to present their completed work/ assigned projects to the leadership team.

Your Day To Day As a Welding Engineering Intern
  • Developing and delivering unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear environment.
  • Creating/updating drawings and procedures.
  • Participates in design testing, analysis, project management and procurement of materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program pursuing a degree in Engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Pay: $29.50

The starting hourly rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) is expected to be $29.50 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.
