Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop, optimize, and support welding processes in a vehicle manufacturing environment in Van Wert, Ohio. You will partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure weld quality and drive continuous improvement.

The role involves leading MIG, TIG, and resistance welding process development, defining welding parameters and procedures, investigating defects with root-cause analysis, and supporting PPAP submissions,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in welding, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years in welding engineering or weld process development.
AWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize MIG, TIG, and resistance welding processes.
Define and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and standards.
Investigate welding defects with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with AWS, ISO, and IATF 16949 standards.
Conduct weld audits, support PPAP submissions, and develop PFMEAs and control plans.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to reduce waste, cycle time, and consumable costs.
