Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking a Welding Engineer for our Ohio manufacturing partner. You will develop, optimize, and support welding processes (MIG, TIG, resistance) and collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure weld quality and drive continuous improvement.

You will define procedures, analyze defects, and support new product launches while ensuring AWS, ISO, and IATF 16949 compliance. Lean/Six Sigma principles help reduce waste and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in welding engineering or weld process development within manufacturing.
• AWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize MIG, TIG, and resistance welding processes.
• Define and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and standards.
• Investigate welding defects, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, ISO, and IATF 16949 industry standards.
• Conduct weld audits, support PPAP submissions, and develop PFMEAs and control plans.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste, cycle time, and consumable costs.
