Job summary

Total Force Alliance, LLC seeks a Welding Engineer III to support the refueling and complex overhaul of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman.

This 100% on-site role is based in Newport News, VA, with duties spanning welding technique development, analysis, and procedure design. The incumbent will prepare technical documentation, implement waterfront welding processes, and create or modify welding methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited program) required.
• Advanced degrees qualify for relevant experience (Master’s 3 years; PhD 0 years).
• ABET-accredited degree required for Newport News role.

Welding Engineer III

We’re seeking a Welding Engineer III to support the advanced planning contract for the refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). This position is 100% on-site in Newport News, VA.

The Role

Develops, analyzes, researches, and designs welding techniques, procedures, and applications. Uses engineering principles to manipulate materials for fabrication and assembly processes. Prepares technical documentation in order to implement waterfront welding processes including specifications, analyses, standards, and restrictions. Creates new or modifies current welding methods, techniques, and procedures in order to substantiate welding theories.

Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
• Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;
• Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Target Salary Range

$115,000 - $140,000
