Job summary

Curtiss Wright in Pittsburgh is seeking a Welding Engineer to lead welding technique selection and procedural development for complex equipment. You will mentor engineers, interface with design and manufacturing teams, and ensure welding processes meet stringent performance standards.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in manufacturing welding, strong knowledge of arc welding (GTAW, FCAW, SAW), and experience with ASME III/IX, NAVSEA or Tech Pub codes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology is required or considered.
• Degrees in Metallurgy or Materials Science with welding experience are acceptable.
• 6+ years of related experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with arc welding processes (GTAW, FCAW, SAW; knowledge of GMAW/SMAW/PTAW also considered).
• Experience with ASME III/IX, NAVSEA, or Tech Pub welding codes required.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate welding techniques and procedures for applications and qualifications.
• Generate weld procedure and welder qualification records.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with arc welding processes for high-quality welds.
• Provide technical support and direction to skilled labor and lab technicians.
