Job summary

Genie, a global leader in aerial work platforms, is seeking a Welding Engineer for its Redmond, WA operation. This hands-on role focuses on welding process development, production support, quality improvement, and implementing new welding technologies across a sophisticated manufacturing environment.

You will own welding projects from development to deployment, with GMAW expertise, adherence to AWS standards, and experience with robotic welding systems.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on welding process development, production support, quality improvement, and the implementation of new technologies across a sophisticated manufacturing environment.

As the Welding Engineer your responsibilities will include

• Developing, validating, and improving welding processes in accordance with AWS standards and production requirements
• Developing and deploying Welding Procedure Specifications and Procedure Qualification Records
• Supporting robotic welding programming, implementation, and the introduction of new welding technologies
• Leading root cause investigations and developing solutions to improve quality, productivity, and operating costs
• Evaluating engineering changes, manufacturing processes, prototypes, and production improvements

As the Welding Engineer you will bring

• Experience within a manufacturing welding environment, with strong GMAW experience
• Knowledge of welding processes, AWS standards, and welding procedure qualification
• Experience with robotic welding systems or automated welding implementation
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and drive projects independently
• A degree in Engineering, Welding Engineering, or Welding Technology is preferred, with CWI certification considered an advantage
