Job summary

AML3D USA, Inc in Akron, OH is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop, qualify, and optimize welding processes for wire-arc printing and DED-arc applications; you will support production teams and customers with welding techniques and troubleshooting.

The role requires experience in welding metallurgy, familiarity with industry standards, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel; US citizenship and background check required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Welding Engineering or related field; or IWE/WT/AWS qualification.
• Experience in manufacturing, welding, and/or robotics.
• Knowledge of welding high-alloy steels, stainless steel, nickel-based, titanium, copper, and aluminum alloys.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, ASTM, NAVSEA, DEFSTAN, and ISO standards.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• U.S. Citizenship and background check willingness.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and optimize welding processes for wire-arc printing.
• Support production teams and customers with welding techniques and troubleshooting.
• Develop welding parameters and perform welding qualification testing.
• Analyze weld quality, mechanical testing, and NDE results.
• Collaborate with software and engineering teams to improve process control and hardware.
• Use CAD software to develop strategies for 3D printing using wire-arc processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve products and manufacturing processes.

Pay:

$120,000-$150,000 annually, offer depending on experience

Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Welding Engineering or related engineering field; or qualified in one of the following- IWE/WT/AWS (International Welding Engineer or similar).
• Experience in manufacturing, welding, and/or robotics.
• Knowledge of welding high-alloy steels, stainless steel, nickel-based, titanium, cooper, and aluminum alloys.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, ASTM, NAVSEA, DEFSTAN, and ISO standards.
