Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Deputy Corporate Manager of Welding in Houston, TX to manage the Welding and Applied Technology Center and support the Corporate Welding and NDE Services program. The role involves project material planning, development coordination with construction, and exploring welding technology advancements with the Corporate Welding Team.

Responsibilities include leading testing, evaluating mock-ups, and coordinating with Bechtel teams globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13–15 years of relevant experience or 17–19 years total experience.
• Graduate degree in Welding Engineering or Materials Science Engineering; Ph.D. preferred.
• Experience executing global EPC construction projects and deep knowledge of welding processes, applications, and field welding solutions.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, with clear technical responses for multiple audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist managing the Welding and Applied Technology Center, leading internal/external design of experiments and testing programs.
• Support customer development, organize WATC tours and events, estimate costs for development projects, and program welding activities.
• Identify new welding equipment, technologies, consumables, and methods offering competitive advantage.
• Lead R&D initiatives to apply innovative technology solutions for Bechtel projects.
• Prepare technical presentations for management, engineers, customers and seminars.
