Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Welder to perform production welding, service and repair welding, and prototype building in a fast-paced environment. You will weld using MIG, ARC and TIG processes and collaborate with supervisors to improve efficiency and meet preset welding parameters.

AWS D1.1 SMAW certification is required and a High School diploma is required; experience in heavy trucks or automotive environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AWS D1.1 SMAW Certification required.
• Heavy Truck/Automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits.
• Conduct technical inspections.
• Fabrication of custom prototypes and jigs from drawings.
• Perform maintenance on returned products to refurbish or re-work to customer specs.
• Maintain detailed reports and documentation.
• Operate flame cutting equipment, brazing and soldering equipment.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
• Repair machinery and other components.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws.
