Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) invites applications for Adjunct Faculty - Welding. The position supports classes in welding, teaching up to 12 credits in fall and spring and up to 8 credits during summer, with formats including in-person, remote, and online.

Must reside in the DMV area; adjunct teaching loads vary with enrollment. Appointments carry no guarantee of continued employment. Experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW is required; AWS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of FT welding experience in the industry.
• AWS certified welder (present or past).
• Canvas or other LMS experience.
• College level teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
