Description

We are seeking experienced Welders to join Extrastaff Limited. Our growing business values organized and trustworthy individuals who take pride in quality workmanship. The role requires motivation, results-driven attitude, and flexibility to work across various locations in the country to support our projects. The Welder will be responsible for:

• Familiarity with various welding techniques and equipment.
• Working with different metals, hand tools, power tools, specialist welding tools, and heavy machinery.
• Igniting torches or starting power supplies and striking arcs by touching electrodes to metals.
• Operating safety equipment and adhering to safe work practices.
• Detecting faulty equipment or materials and notifying supervisors.
• Monitoring welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion.
• Recognizing and operating hand and power tools used in welding, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Analyzing engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to plan welding operations.
• Welding with aluminium, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
• Selecting and installing torches, tips, filler rods, and flux based on specifications.
• Adjusting gas flow and pressure to achieve desired flames.
• Guiding flames or electrodes to shape and build up metal.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Pay conditions: Min $25.00/hr to Max $30/hr

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours guaranteed

Skills and experience required:

• At least 1 year of relevant welding experience or equivalent NZQA Level 4 qualification.
• Friendly demeanor, good time management, and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to learning and skill development.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Willingness to work in multiple locations across New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
