Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures, a proud subsidiary of Arcosa, Inc., is hiring 2nd shift Welders for our Hager City, WI plant. You will weld per blueprints and work orders to join and fabricate metal parts for utility structure products.

We seek individuals with welding experience or training; reading blueprints is highly preferred. The role involves welding, grinding, and precise measurement, with a 2nd shift Mon-Fri schedule and starting pay of $25.89 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience or successful completion of weld training/education
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred
• Ability to read blueprints/layouts/schematics/work orders highly preferred
• Previous experience manufacturing transmission poles or related products is highly desired, but not required

Responsibilities

• Weld according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders
• Perform basic repairs and full penetration welds to join parts
• Operate grinding equipment
• Position pieces to be welded using jigs, fixtures, guides, and steps
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Observe all standard safety practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire 2nd shift Welders for our plant located in Hager City, WI. As a Welder at Meyer Utility Structures, you will weld according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders. Welding to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding together structural steel and other metals to build utility structure products.

Schedule: 2nd shift - Mon- Fri 2:45 pm – 12:45 am

Starting Pay: $25.89

What You’ll Do:

• Perform basic repairs
• Perform full penetration (such as slip joint) welds to weld ends to poles or channels
• Operate grinding equipment
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools in accordance with layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Qualify as a flat welder
• Maintain 90% pass rate on UT inspection
• Observe all standard safety practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

• Minimum of 1 year of applicable welding experience or successful completion of weld training and education
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred
• Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances highly preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders highly preferred
• Previous experience manufacturing transmission poles or related products is highly desired, but not required
