Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a 2nd Shift Fitter/Welder at our Clinton, IL plant to lay out pieces per blueprints and weld them using MIG techniques. You'll set up, operate and maintain welding equipment and work safely to build utility structure products.

We require welding experience or training, blueprints reading ability, and a dependable team player attitude for night shifts (6pm–4:30am).

Qualifications

• Applicable welding experience and/or welding training completed
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience preferred
• Ability to measure within specified tolerances
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders
• Experience with transmission poles or related products desirable
• Dependable with a positive attitude and teamwork mindset
• Night shift hours 6pm to 4:30am

Responsabilités

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for Fitter/Welders to join our growing team in our Clinton, IL plant. As a 2nd Shift Fitter/Welder at Meyer Utility Structures, you’ll use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders. You’ll set up, operate and maintain welding equipment. Through the MIG welding process, you’ll be responsible for welding together structural steel and other metals to build utility structure products while implementing safety protocols and procedures.

With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.

What You'll Do

• Observe all standard safety practices and follow all safety rules
• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and/or final product
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Participate in safety committees and/or other initiatives
• Complete other duties as required including helping to train other employees as needed on new tasks

What You'll Need

• Applicable welding experience and/or successful completion of weld training and education
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred
• Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances is required
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders is required
• Previous experience manufacturing transmission poles or related products is highly desired, but not required
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
• Night Shift hours 6pm to 4:30am.
