Job description

$21.50 to $28.50 based on experience and shift.

Position Summary:

Welders perform routine, repetitive-type gas metal arc welding using spray pulse and short circuit processes to manufacture hydraulic cylinders as assigned utilizing prints, drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction as required.

Requirements:

  1. Ability to setup and weld parts using MIG welding processes.
  2. Ability to inspect parts and welds components to print specifications on a variety of conventional weld equipment to meet certification requirements. Ability to weld new products without regular assistance.
  3. Accurately measures weld size with the proper use of a Filet Gauge.
  4. Examines welds for bead size and other specifications.
  5. Record accurate production/material use to ensure accuracy of labor tracking, production control and physical inventory.
  6. Ability to change welding wire and/or welding gases as required.
  7. Operates electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  8. Maintains a clean and organized work area and performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on welding machines.
  9. Ability to follow job order status and release jobs using Shop Floor Manager.
  10. Performs all computer functions necessary to clock in and out of jobs and verifies payroll hours.
  11. Completes proper supporting paperwork: NCR, shortage sheet, maintenance requests, attendance forms, and other paperwork as required.
  12. Examines welds to determine that customer standards or specifications and internal quality standards are met.
  13. Notifies quality control or a supervisor when a part is not to customer specifications.
  14. Confers with engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve welding or assembly problems.
  15. Understanding and compliance of ISO system.
  16. Performs all work in a safety conscious manner. Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you.
  17. Trains others as assigned.
