Job summary

Torch Technologies in Huntsville, AL seeks a Welder/Welding Technician to support the fabrication and integration of weldments and mechanical assemblies for DoW programs. This role favors low-volume, high-mix fabrication and close collaboration with engineers and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of fabrication experience, can read weld symbols, and holds or can obtain AWS certification. US citizenship is required; 1st shift with 4/10 schedule; OSHA 10 training preferred.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Associate degree or 2 years of technical training or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing/fabrication experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Proficient in MIG welding steel.
• Proficient in TIG welding aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and weld symbols.
• Ability to obtain AWS welding certification.
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality processes.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Workplace safety is a priority at Torch. Candidates must receive and present an OSHA 10-Hour Training Course for General Industry certification (either a card from the Department of Labor or certificate of completion from an authorized trainer) within the first 90 days of employment. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed training prior to employment. Training may be completed online.
