Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Welder for the Brenham, TX facility. You will perform welding, brazing, and adhesion work on diaphragm seal products, and operate TIG and resistance seam welders following approved procedures. Reading drawings and using calipers/micrometers will be essential to ensure spec conformance.

You will support continuous improvement, maintain traceability, and document production results. This role requires safety awareness, teamwork, and flexibility to work a 3rd-shift schedule on

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic welding, brazing, and adhesion operations for diaphragm seals and related products.
  • Operates resistance seam welding and TIG welding equipment per procedures and standards.
  • Conducts product inspections to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintains material identification and traceability throughout production.
  • Completes production documentation for passes, fails, repairs, reworks, and scrap.

3rd - Weekend Day Shift, Friday-Sunday (6:00am-6:30pm)

Starting Pay (based on experience):

  • $20-$27 + shift differential ($2.00 per hour)
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Performs basic welding, brazing, and adhesion operations to support diaphragm seal and related product manufacturing.
  • Operates resistance seam welding and TIG welding equipment in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Conducts product inspections using approved measurement and inspection methods to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Maintains material identification and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Completes production documentation accurately, including pass, fail, repair, rework, and scrap records.
  • Identifies and communicates equipment, process, tooling, drawing, specification, or quality concerns to the supervisor or appropriate team member.
  • Performs repair and rework activities in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks.
  • Maintains proper product organization, handling, and identification throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Supports continuous improvement, 5S initiatives, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Follows all company safety, quality, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Contributes positively to a team-oriented work environment and supports production goals.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as scales, calipers, micrometers, and other basic measuring devices.
  • Ability to successfully complete required quality and ISO training.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed to support business demands.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Previous welding, brazing, soldering, assembly, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience using TIG welding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience working in a regulated quality environment.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to welding equipment and production machinery.
  • Exposure to heat, sparks, sharp metal edges, metal shavings, and manufacturing-related noise.
  • May work with chemicals and process materials including acetone, oils, coolants, and other approved manufacturing substances.
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, welding protection, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
  • Requires adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental regulations and procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and fingers for detailed assembly, welding, inspection, and material handling tasks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect weld quality, read drawings, and utilize measurement tools.
