Job summary

Carver, Inc. is seeking a skilled welder to perform structural welding on frames, bases, and assemblies in accordance with welding procedures. You will set and adjust welding machines, cut materials to size, and ensure dimensional accuracy using fixtures and measuring tools.

The role requires at least two years of experience and ability to read blueprints. You will work with MIG, Arc, and Flux-Cored processes and may operate various hand tools, with flexible hours during peak months.

Qualifications

• Two years’ welding experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• General knowledge of MIG, Arc and Flux Cored welding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard structural welding to produce frames, bases, structural assemblies, sections and parts in accordance with welding procedures.
• Set and adjust welding machine.
• Select and cut materials to size using power saw, torch, etc. as indicated by drawing or bill of materials.
• Set up work pieces to avoid distortion and clamp or position pieces to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Select rod and make necessary number of passes to ensure structural strength.
• May grind, fit and align units and parts to fit. Clean and check weld.
• Work from drawings, blueprints, job instructions, bills of material.
• Shift and hours subject to change during peak months (must be flexible).
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned.

• Set and adjust welding machine.
• Select and cut materials to size using power saw, torch, etc. as indicated by drawing or bill of materials.
• Set up work pieces to avoid distortion and clamp or position pieces to maintain dimensional accuracy. May use holding fixtures where available.
• Select rod and make necessary number of passes to ensure structural strength.
• May grind, fit and align units and parts to fit. Clean and check weld.
• Work from drawings, blueprints, job instructions, bills of material. Use rule, scale, square gauges and other tools as necessary.
• Shift and hours subject to change during peak months (must be flexible)
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires general knowledge of Mig, Arc and Flux Cored welding techniques and procedures generally working with standard materials not requiring certified welding.
• A minimum of two years’ experience required.
• Must have ability to read blueprints and drawings.
