Responsibilities

• Utilize GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) methods to weld tubing components with precision.
• Understand tubing materials and their welding characteristics.
• Weld aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel tubing in all positions.
• Work with stainless steel tubing from .065” to .035” in the 1G test position.
• Work with aluminum tubing from .065” to .065” in the 6G test position.
• Perform work in various positions including standing, sitting, lying, and kneeling.
• Use mirror welding techniques when necessary.
• Climb on and over bulkheads and ladders.
• Perform tack welding in various positions, including overhead burning.
• Use jacks, porta-powers, and come-alongs, some weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Lifting materials and tools, loading and unloading parts.
• Crawl through craft and into compartments.
• Bend and twist to access different areas.
• Operate cranes and forklifts.
• Use power tools such as gougers, saws, and grinders safely.
• Walk on uneven surfaces.
• Work with hands skillfully.

Physical Demands

Work in non-climate-controlled environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, heights, confined spaces, and chemicals. Requires physical activities like lifting, crawling, climbing, and repetitive motions. Must have sufficient fitness to perform medium work, including lifting up to 35 lbs alone and 70 lbs with assistance.
