The role includes reading and interpreting drawings, performing FCAW and other welding tasks, and preparing materials. Qualifications

  • Physically capable of lifting 70 pounds and standing for long periods.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime and to submit a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, and other instructions.
  • Perform FCAW and other types of welding.
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or horizontal positions.
  • Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies using welding equipment.
  • Set up and operate hand and power tools common to welding and fabrication.
  • Analyze welding procedures, blueprints, sketches and work orders to plan welding operations.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using grinders or chippers.
  • Prepare material surfaces to be welded, ensuring cleanliness.
  • Mark material with job numbers and identification as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Our company is looking for an experienced Welder in our Structural Steel department.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.
  • Perform FCAW and other types of welding based on project needs.
  • De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture per job specifications.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or horizontal positions.
  • Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using welding equipment.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding and fabrication trade.
  • Analyze welding procedures, blueprints, sketches and work orders to plan layout, assembly, and perform welding operations.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
  • Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills

  • Able to work well with minimal supervision as well as with other technicians

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be willing to submit a drug test and background check
