Job summary

Enerflex in Oklahoma is seeking a senior welder responsible for completing routine welding assignments within defined processes, working 5pm to 5:30am on vessel welding, under moderate supervision.

You will use MIG, TIG, flux-core, or stick welding, pass NDT tests, read blueprints, and maintain safety while supporting continuous improvement in the shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related welding experience.
• Must pass 3G vessel/tower or 6G pipe test.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld requirements.
• Ability to work night shift (5pm–5:30am) and maintain productivity.
• Proficiency with multiple welding processes and QA testing.

Responsibilities

• Weld using MIG, TIG, flux-core, or stick processes.
• Perform NDT tests and document results.
• Read blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, and components.
• Operate cutting torches and automated equipment.

Job description

Summary

Senior level position responsible for completing routine welding assignments within clearly defined processes. Works under moderate supervision. The position will work 5pm - 5:30am and will do vessel welding.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore sub-arc or stick welding process (must pass three or more)
• Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non-Destructive Exam
• May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials
• Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework
• Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches and automated equipment
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, etc. with minimal supervision
• Must be able to operates basic cutting equipment
• Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude
• Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
• Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
• Requires operation of heavy such as welding tools on a constant frequency and forklift on an occasional frequency

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

• Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials
• Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or 6G test pipe
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience

Preferred Training & Certifications

• Certification to weld on pipe or plate

• Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time

• Requires employee to occasionally inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
• Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility
• Requires work on loud environment
• Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
